On the shores of the majestic
Mediterranean Sea, the Rubin-Zeffren Children’s Home stands as a living legacy
to our founder, Rabbi Yekusial Yehuda
Halberstam, the Sanz-Klausenberg Rebbe, of blessed memory.
Orphaned at age 13 through the loss of his father (Rabbi
Tzvi Hirsch Halberstam), the Rebbe developed into a soft-spoken and sensitive
leader, with deep faith and a relentless spirit that influenced communities in
Europe before and during the Holocaust. After the war years, his holy work continued
in the D.P. camps, the U.S. and Israel.
Considering that the Rebbe suffered the agonizing murders
of his wife and 11 children at the hands of the Nazis, his accomplishments are
even more remarkable. Astonishingly, he transformed his heartbreak into
unprecedented acts of loving kindness towards individuals and communities which
thrive until today. In the concentration
camps, he inspired the downtrodden; later, he became a father figure to
thousands of Holocaust survivors. It was his personal mission to ensure that
survivor children lived a full life after the extreme horrors they endured.
Numerous schools and institutions throughout the world,
such as the famous Laniado Hospital, continue to benefit hundreds of adults
and children. These pillars of community service attest to the Rebbe’s
generosity of spirit and his mission to ease the physical and emotional burdens
of others.
The
example of this great and holy man, the Sanz-Klausenberg Rebbe, our founder, is
the best model we can follow. Lev LaLev, with the help of our dear friends and
donors, perpetuates his great legacy of loving-kindness and charity – providing
sustenance and revitalizing the spirits of those in need.
Our
efforts ensure that the Rebbe’s mission and legacy will remain alive! Your
support is a blessing to his memory!
Thanks so much for being a valued partner in all we do,
and perpetuating the vision of our holy leader.
